We're starting the second half of the Solar Year with the Sun entering the sign of LIBRA. This is also the Autumnal Solstice, when the official season of Fall begins. The first six signs are connected to the self, and the formation of the personality. It's symbol are the justice scales. Libra happens to be ruled by Venus, the love planet. Whatever you think about this rather detached sign it is usually the center of a gathering, due to their wit and attractive genial qualities. They seem to be able to calm things down in a delicate situation, unless they are the reason for the delicate situation.
Libra
rules the seventh house in the natural horoscope and
also the place of the setting Sun. As such Libra is
always looking back to gain access to the present
set of circumstances. This sign and house is always
looking for the perfect partner. They really need
a partner as this enables them to see themselves.
Libra is known as the iron hand in the velvet glove.
They can love fun and fight. They can be insightful
regarding just about everything, but don't expect
them to be emotional. That trait is horrific to them.
They can seem to be intimate yet at the same time
be distant. A big dichotomy for the rest of us that
desire an emotional response. The partner of this
lovely sign can get increasingly overly demanding
just to have a reaction from the Libra.

The
virtue of the Libra personality is compassionate detachment.
But what they are really known for is the inability to make
a decision. This exemplifies the symbol of the scales. They
can see both sides of a situation, and therefore cannot decide
which choice to make. I have known many Libra's in my long
lifetime and they are all mostly alike in this trait. It is
such fun watching them suffer trying to make a choice. You
can just see them struggle in their heads.
Ruled
by the peaceful planet Venus, the Libra personality loves
beauty for beauty's sake, as well as surrounding itself with
beauty. Theirs is the walk in beauty, as they have to absolutely
look perfectly in harmony with themselves. In other words
they are their own perfect peacock. Looks are a necessary
and important part of their personality. Matching everything
on their person is mandatory. I have a Libra friend that wears
stockings in 100 degree heat as this makes her feel in perfect
harmony. To each his own and the Libra is really known for
their individuality.
These
people are not the distance runners in the zodiac. They can
easily become indolent and would like to run their business
from the bathtub. They can run the most lavish parties as
they just know what is needed in any situation. Libra can
also be also be alone to decide what is their best course
of action, if they choose to act. Their friends continually
ask advice form these common sense personalities, yet have
a hard time knowing what is right for themselves to do. They
can show others what is needed in a situation yet fail to
see their own direction. Their theme is relatedness. But they
really never act unless the terms are favorable to them.
Libra
in the Tarot is the Justice card. Again symbolizing the need
to pursue a perfect outcome. Loving harmony, they can be the
disruptor of the scene, as they can see what is wrong with
any given situation. This can create a major dilemma but true
to form, they can solve the problem and again bring harmony
to the situation. They can only work through the natural laws
of nature, and can seemingly do this effectively to the benefit
of most. Libra would never intrude where it is not needed,
but to others this may not seem to be the case, as it has
measured all the probabilities and decided it has to act,
for the benefit of the many.
The
Libra personality has the gift of getting his own way by seemingly
giving up the need for it. They are the task masters of subtlety,
and can start an argument and make you the culprit, without
even trying. They get their best responses by saying I don't
care you make the choice, and then complain about the decision.
I have seen this in action so many times it is now quite humorous
and I can just enjoy the drama.
These
wonderful souls just enhance our life expression and yet can
bring us to our knees without even trying. You gotta love
them.

What
the Planets are Doing...
The
Sun in Libra, now the Vernal Equinox,
starts the Fall season. Football, Hockey, Basketball, etc.,
are now upon us and we can either enjoy or choose to hide from
the spectator sport, that can be exciting. If sports don’t interest
you, take up knitting, quilting, or baking. Take a walk on a
brisk day and watch the leaves fall nourishing our Mother Earth.
With
Mercury still retrograde until September 29th, you
can still clean out that pesky closet that just refuses to get
organized. Take time to release any unnecessary relationships
that are standing in your way for a positive relationship. We
often don't remember a part of a particular relationship that
we thought was forgotten, but there is still a piece leftover.
Time to let go of everything to pursue healthy interaction.
Mercury moves back into Libra on October 9th. Detachment in
our thought process is now in effect. Move onto mastery.
The
Full Moon on October 3rd generates quite a bit of energy
as it is an Aries Moon. Fire Moons like action and enjoy being
social, so go for it. Besides, it falls on a Saturday so you
all can get out and see what there is to see.
October 12th, Jupiter, the biggest planet,
stations and begins it's direct motion. Still in Aquarius, it
is now ready to fulfill it's destiny in this humanitarian sign.
Expansion in humanity can become a slogan for our planet and
our people now. What a concept ... lets start with one person
and translate it to the many.
Venus
completes its transit in Virgo and moves into Libra,
it's home base, on October 14th. Love in bloom can start again,
so let it rip folks, and have fun and enjoy each other and love
as much as we can.
The
New Moon is October 17th in Libra. Do not forget to
write your goals. Putting pen to paper sends a message to the
powers that be alerting them to bring you your desires, if that
is what is in your best interest. Don't you just love the part
about in your best interest? Gives God a break.
A
Mercury retrograde drama ... Plane flight is three
hours late ... Picked up the wrong luggage ... Late for the
conference ... Cell phone dies ... Haven't signed into the hotel.
But all is well ... there is Mary. A true story.
