Welcome back to planet Earth now that we are entering the sign of Capricorn. This is the last of our Earth signs, and the most hard working of most of all the other signs. This sign is a cardinal sign and that is a starter sign. All the cardinal signs are good examples of people that can begin projects quite well. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn the planet of discipline structure and form. It is the real body builder. Difficult environments are easily calmed by this very earthy of signs. This sign is associated with the father figure. As the new year ends the symbol for this ending is father time, an elderly man associated often with Saturn and Capricorn.
We
have done our soaring to the heavens, with the sign
of Sagittarius, and are about to devote our lives
to the task of getting ahead. That is what Capricorn
is all about, getting ahead with doing as much as
possible to manifest their hearts desire. Status is
another trade mark of the successful Capricorn.
Saturn
rules this ever-adapting sign, to get a head start
in their chosen profession. They will work diligently
at this to bring about their dreams. Financial security
stems from this insecurity of having little, while
growing up. This is not always true but it often is
very applicable. This plagues most of us, but with
Capricorn it is a very dramatic aspect in their lives.

The
cycle of Capricorn begins with the winter solstice around
December 21st, the longest night of the year. As we enter
the darkest of months we all begin to seek the warmth of our
homes and just cuddling down with a good book or another sedentary
hobby.
This
pervading energy is pulling us all inward to begin anew in
our building of a super structure that we can live in and
flourish. Capricorn wants to build whatever is large and can
be realized for the betterment of our civilization. Their
totem is a goat, that lives high up in the mountains and is
ever climbing upward to scale the heights. They really have
a time of it as to what mountain to climb, but once that is
established then they can pursue their driven destiny. These
hardened people are very solitary in their drive for status
and success. It is hard for the Capricorn to share their vision
with another as this would mean that they have to slow down
and see where they are, in the midst of their travel upward.
They are generally quiet people even if they are the housewife
who rules her home like a corporation.
This
sign can get out of touch with others if they just work and
don't have much of a social life. If they do find their way
into a social setting they can be very funny. After all, this
is the sign of the humorist and the dirty old man. They can
be very entertaining and people love to have them around however
they choose to be solitary in their quest for success. They
can really be very honest to a fault, but they cannot take
the return as it wounds them deeply. I think that this is
the reason that they really like to be alone, to get a handle
on their vision, and keep the momentum going.
These
lonely souls need people around them that know how to criticize
them without causing harm to their delicate psyches. There
are so many powerful and successful people born into this
sign that it is hard to keep them out of the limelight. The
most well known at this time is Tiger Woods. He is an example
of a driven man that is very successful, as well as having
an interesting life that is not connected to his profession.
Some
famous people born in Capricorn are:
Howard
Hughes, Stalin, Elvis Presley, Mel Gibson, Carlos Castaneda,

What
the Planets are Doing...
Recovering
from Thanksgiving, we can now enter into the hardest
time of the year for some. For others, having family around
can be a time of real joy like theCancers of the universe.
The
Sun moving into Capricorn, on December 21st, allows
us all to realize the importance of hard work and the rewards
it brings. We are on the final lap of this year of many surprises
and looking forward to the next year of interesting times.
The
same day Mars goes retrograde.
Wow so many aspects to our life at this time. Mars is our drive
and our ego energy. He stays in this pattern till March 11,
2010. This could be a good time for reflection about our deeds
the past couple of years ... where we could have done better
or did too much. It is a time to evaluate what we desire to
accomplish with care in the next year. Mars is so powerful that
we need to take a break from his energy every once in a while.
This is the time to do it. Relax and have fun.
Christmas
day brings Venus entering Capricorn. She is not necessarily
joyous here but will tolerate it as she does every year. Her
object will be on money which she loves, so that is good. Venus
can then buy all those necessary things she overlooked while
she lived in Sagittarius.
Kwanzaa
happens on December 26th.
On
December 27th Mercury decides to change his mind about
moving forward and goes retrograde. Get ready for some miscommunications
and memory lapses. All in all it is a good time for cleaning
up messes and getting a handle on unfinished tasks. Get ready
for the fun of it all. Do not start a project during this time,
or buy an expensive object, like a TV set or other electronic
devices.
There
is a Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) on December 31st. A
time to let go of unnecessary things, people, or other things
in your life. A perfect time as the old year ends. Tell me that
there is no perfection here on planet Earth.
January
13th Saturn turns around and goes retrograde. Time
to revive what you didn't get right the first time around. Saturn
has a hard time not doing things right the first time, however
there is often something that didn't get done correctly, so
have at it.
The
Solar Eclipse (New Moon) happens on January 14th at
11:11 pm PST. Makes it January 15th for you East Coast loved
ones. A New Start can happen after you have let go of unnecessary
things in your life after the Lunar Eclipse.
January
15th Mercury goes direct. Yea, yea. We can start to
get back out of our closets now that they are clean and organized.
The cycle ends on February 3rd.
Jupiter
enters Pisces on the 17th of January. Jupiter is the
ultimate ruler of Pisces so this will be a good time.
On
January 18th Venus moves into Aquarius ... People begin
to notice Aquarians with Venus blessing them.
