Summer
Solstice is here again and as the Sun reaches its pinnacle,
we can see through our emotional eyes. CANCER being the first
water sign, makes us a bit restless due to the cardinal nature
of this sign. The Cancerian has a highly developed sensitive
and intuitive side to them that they use all the time. They
are easily hurt as they feel so much around them and need to
develop strong boundaries.
This solstice is offering us an opportunity to enact
some changes in our world. It becomes a feminine time
as it is expressed through the sign of Cancer. The nights
begin their dance with longevity as they start to get
longer and finish up at the Winter Solstice.

The
Moon rules this loving nurturing sign, and as such, they respond
more powerfully to the cycles of the Moon. They are our protectors
and they can be devouring if we let them. Very caring individuals
.... they can never seem to get enough of whatever they want
at the time. They are quite moody and can really get under your
skin if you let them. If you’re in a bit of a heart ache,
they can be tremendously reassuring and comforting. They seem
to run the gamut of emotion. Cancer operates out of the mother
child syndrome at all times, unless they learn not to get caught
up in their own emotions. In other words … get out of
your own way. Cancers are the Great Mother and are responsible
(in their own way) for setting up the home so all can go home
and get nourished. They are fiercely protective and are creatively
responsive when needed.
Very
practical, the Cancer wants to make real what the Gemini thinks
about. Cancer rules our past and our heritage. It is the womb
we all crave to nurture us as we dance through life. They love
rituals as they weave the past and future together. Cancers
never forget anything done to them that could harm their feelings
or the feelings of those that they love.
They
rule all growing life and natural cycles … the tides and
our stomachs and breasts. Brooding is a classic trademark of
these often moon-faced individuals. They love small containers
and spaces, like the crab, with it’s hard shiny surface
on top and their tender underbelly. Unless they feel safe, they
will be brittle and hard and judgmental. They don’t want
to let go of the past so often their homes look like a garage
sale. They can find the cheapest place to get your car fixed,
find just the book you need at the right moment, etc. And they
do want to have you reply in kind or you will feel their pincers.
I had a Cancer roommate that would literally pinch me when she
didn’t approve of my current action.

What
the Planets are Doing...
The
Sun entering Cancer with the strength of the solstice
energy can offer us all an opportunity for allowing our family
life to come to the forefront. The beginning of summer is a
time for vacation from our work responsibilities.
The
New Moon on the 25th will open the flood gates of deep
feelings. Family concerns will be in the moment. Don’t
forget to write your goals. Putting thought into form creates
magic.
Venus
leaves Taurus and blows into Gemini on June 23rd. The
flirting game begins. In Gemini, play is the norm for Venus.
Mercury
enters Leo on June 28th. Let us all take a deep breath
as we escape from our deep thoughts and begin to fly with the
energy of Leo. Thoughts will turn inward to enhance our own
needs rather than the dynamics of family.
The
Full Moon is on July 9th. Do a ceremony to release
any left over frustrations and get rid of unnecessary baggage.
Take some time for yourself and be still.
Mercury
begins its retrograde cycle on July 4th and will end on August
12th. This is a time for reflection and cleaning out
closets, cabinets, finishing up correspondence … getting
organized. Thoughts will be renewed. An important fact is not
to purchase any electronic equipment or sign any contracts during
this time.
There
will be a Mars/Uranus opposition on July 13th. Be careful
as the energy will be raw and we will think we can do anything.
Accident time.
Venus
speeding along enters Cancer on July 18th. More interest
in romance and nurturing our partners will come into play.

Our normal rate is $3.23 per minute.
